Under-Cats, Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
Lithuanian photographer Andrius Burba loves two things - photography, and cats.
So, when he began preparing for "The International Cat Show" in Vilnius, Lithuania, the ideas flowed naturally.
After debating a number of photo shoot ideas for some time, Burba landed on one: pictures of cats from underneath.
"The idea about taking photos from underneath came from [a] similar photo which I randomly found on the internet," he wrote on Bored Panda.
Thus, "Under-Cats" was born: a photo series...of cats...from underneath.
It may not sound like a revolutionary concept, but the results speak for themselves. Just look at this Cheshire Cat-looking little smirk-monster.
And the series, while strictly themed, aptly displays the diversity of cats.
Some maintained athletic poses...
Showing their gracefully agile physiology.
While others just sort of laid there, displaying their supreme ability to do absolutely nothing while not giving a damn about what's going on around them.
But Burba's convinced some cats do care about what's going on around them - especially when it's underneath them.
"I was fascinated by their cute little paws which were impossible to resist to look at. But the main idea which I wanted to express through these photos, is that cats feel embarrassed about this part of a body which people don’t get to see daily."
So there you have it folks. The mystery's been cracked. This is what cats look like from underneath.
Check out more of Burba's work on his Facebook or Instagram. He doesn't just photograph cats. Actually, he mainly does shoots of beautiful models. Just not from underneath.
