Randy Lewis, a professor at Utah State University, has created what might be the world's most fascinating creature at the moment. Ladies and gentlemen, we present to you—the spider-goat.Â
AND THIS IS IT! Just kidding, this is just a spider! Lewis took the genes that create the dragline silk from spiders.
He then put that gene in the DNA of the goat that was in charge of producing milk...so that the goat would effectively produce spider's silk.
They produce a hearty silk when they're all done being "milked." Since silk is very valuable in the medical field, that makes these spider-goats extremely industrious!
And they also happen to be adorable, because...well, because they're goats.
Spider-goat, spider-goat...does what ever a spider-goat does.
