Childhood doodles seem whimsical when you first see them. To be even more honest, sometimes thaty just look like straight up nonsense.
But Dutch artist Telmo Pieper felt that there was something more to childhood drawings. He felt that if you actually expressed them in a sophisticated way as an adult, you could end up seeing some pretty mind-blowing images...maybe even TERRIFYING images.
Boy, was he right!
Telmo Pieper is a professional muralist.
All of the images from this series were inspired by his own drawings from when he was a child.
The images bring life, color and sophistication to the original drawings of Mini-Telmo.
And the images that adult Telmo has produced seem to be equal parts incredible and disturbing.
The pictures seem to bear the question are these the result of a child who can't quite draw correctly?
Or are they the result of an extremely powerful, and perhaps horrifying, imagination?
No matter what the answer is, they're completely fascinating.
It makes you wonder, what was your imagination cooking up all those years ago?
What were we all thinking?
We probably can never find out the answer to those questions, but Telmo gave it a VERY good try.
