The Insane Power Rangers Suits From The New Movie Are Dividing The Internet
100% less camp, 1,000% more badass.
If you watched 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' as a kid, you're probably stoked AF for the new movie.
Set to release in 2017, the new Power Rangers movie is hitting on all the right buttons for the millennial moviegoing public—namely for its nostalgia and irony factors. For a lot of us, the classic camp of the 'Might Morphin Power Rangers' essentially defined our childhoods.
We got our first look at promo images from the new film on April 19, with photos of Elizabeth Banks as villain Rita Repulsa.
Everyone was surprised about how badass Rita Repulsa looked. It was pretty cool and all, but the pictures only whetted our appetites to see what the heroes—the Rangers themselves—would look like.
Well good news, because Lionsgate just released official photos of the Rangers in their suits!
You'll immediately notice the suits got a big-budget overhaul. No longer are the suits campy combinations of lycra and spandex. They look like legit superheroes now, and people don't exactly know what to think about it.
Some people are really digging the new suits.
Others long for their nostalgic memories of the campy teen Rangers.
Other still really don't like the suits at all.
It's telling that this won't prevent them from staying a Power Rangers fan, though. #loyalty
This person pointed out something very important—that the reboot suits look more like Tony Stark designs than their classic TV counterparts.
But most importantly, this person pointed out the real question on everyone's mind. Where's the green ranger?
Same goes for the white ranger. Can we expected more promo images in the near future?
What do you think?
Do you like the new suits, or do you long for the old ones?
