17 Outfits Celebs Wore At Cannes That'll Make You Say YASS Or WTF
Cannes: Where everyone tries to outdo everyone else on the red carpet.
Hot on the heels of the Met Gala is Cannes Film Festival, where A-list stars from around the world gather to celebrate their forthcoming films. While Cannes is *obviously* about film, the festival has also become one of the hottest fashion spectacles. Between the gowns, the glamour and the guest list, the star-studded red carpet never disappoints.
This year, celebs like Blake Lively, Kendall Jenner and more came out to Cannes, France sporting their most fabulous dresses yet. While some of this year's looks were spot-on amazing, some were straight-up bad, and others were so weird yet mesmerizing you're not sure whether you loved or loathed them.
Best Dressed
1. Blake Lively
Um, if there's anyone worthy of being a real-life princess, it's obviously Blake Lively. The actress, who's expecting her second child with hubby Ryan Reynolds, channeled Elsa in this sparkly blue Versace dress and was pretty much the best thing about the red carpet at the "BFG" screening.
She also stepped out in a Cinderella-esque Vivienne Westwood Couture gown for the premiere of "Slack Bay (Ma Loute)," and all she was really missing was a pair of glass slippers.
2. Kendall Jenner
KJ always slays the red carpet and she was, without a doubt, a showstopper in a sheer, black, embellished Roberto Cavalli dress at the screening for "From the Land to the Moon."
3. Jessica Chastain
Jessica walked the red carpet for the premiere of "Money Monster" in a sheer dress that was straight-up STUNNING. The Alexander McQueen dress was silver and embroidered with elaborate jeweled details.
She also wore this gorgeous strapless Armani Privé yellow gown for the premiere of "Cafe Society," making me p. jealous that she could pull off this color and look awesome.
4. Bella Hadid
Do we sense a theme? Model Bella Hadid wore one of the red carpet's best sheer dresses. She accentuated the Roberto Cavalli cut-out dress with a statement-making sparkly choker by De Grisogono that brought glamour to a whole new level.
5. Kirsten Dunst
Blush-colored dresses are totally hit or miss, but Kirsten pulled off the feminine look for the premiere of "Cafe Society" in a Gucci dress with bold floral designs and a soft cinch around the waist.
Worst Dressed
1. Kristen Stewart
K-Stew channeled her inner vampire at the premiere of "Café Society" in a sheer black Chanel blouse and goth-looking skirt to match. Kristen's style is usually on the edgy side, but the ankle-length skirt looks frumpy and unflattering.
2. Geraldine Nakache
The French actress arrived at the Opening Gala Dinner, looking like she just rolled out of bed in her fancy-ass pajamas.
3. Celine Sallette
Yikes. I'm all for vintage looks, but between the long sleeves and poufy fabric, Celine's green dress at the opening of "Cafe Society" was not flattering at all.
4. Lady Victoria Hervey
At the "American Honey" premiere, Lady Victoria tried to pull off the sheer dress trend but totally failed by putting horrible undergarments underneath. Girl, take a lesson from Bella or Kendall.
Most WTF-Dressed
1. Susan Sarandon
Major applause for the 69-year-old coming out on the red carpet in a low-cut gown with a thigh-high split and sunglasses and just owning it. Susan strutted her stuff for the "Money Monster" premiere, wearing a daring Michael Kors dress, accompanied by Naomi Watts. Do I love it or hate it? I CAN'T DECIDE but I love Susan's confidence wearing it.
2. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
The Internet was obsessing over the Indian actress' bright purple lipstick at the "From the Land of the Moon" premiere. It matched her dress and definitely turned heads, for better or for worse.
3. Literally EVERYTHING Elena Lenina wore
The Russian reality star has been declared the Queen of Cannes before because of her crazy hair and outfit choices. How do you even walk around with a giant heart-shaped beehive on your head?? Well, that's just what Elena did at the "Slack Bay" premiere.
She actually transformed into a troll doll at the "From the Land of the Moon" premiere.
Here she is with a bunch of rollers in her hair. Again, how is this comfortable?
I don't even know how to describe this look, other than "a walking pink drape with branches sticking out of her hair," but regardless, she wore it to the "Money Monster" screening.
She looks like she belongs in a Dr. Seuss novel, but kudos to Elena for her bold choices!
