This Simple Little Iron Fish Is Actually A Brilliant Solution To A Big Problem
We hear about it all the time - world hunger is still the greatest global issue our planet faces. And over the last 10 years, non-profits and charities have come out the woodwork to help solve it, and put food in the mouths of the needy.
But it isn't just hunger that's the issue. There are a number of others that dovetail from it. But mainly, they all center around nutrition - people getting the nutrients their bodies need to be healthy. And by a large margin, the one people most lack around the world, is iron.
Well recently Canadian doctor Christopher Charles came up with a brilliant solution to this problem that could make iron deficiency and anemia a thing of the past.
Why is this so revolutionary? Because iron deficiency is the greatest nutritional health problem in the world. Iron deficiency leads to poor immune health, which leads to diseases like anemia, certain cancers, and high susceptibility to common viruses like malaria, HIV/AIDS, and hookworms - of which the majority of third world countries don't have medicinal cures for. These conditions, as one could assume, eventually lead to death.
Approximately 2 billion people - that's almost a third of the world's population - have anemia. And nearly 3.5 billion people have substantial iron deficiency. Anemia is characterized by fatigue, respiratory and immune system failure, lack of blood circulation, and bone deterioration. While not all die from anemia itself, many eventually die of the diseases that follow it - which are all a result of a lack of iron.
Over 2,500 are using the fish in Cambodia, where iron deficiency is prevalent, and trial studies show that half of those who took part in the study were no longer anemic after 12 months.
One of the best parts? When used three times a day, for each meal, an iron fish lasts for several years.
“Boil up water or soup with the iron fish for at least 10 minutes…you can then take it out. Now add a little lemon juice which is important for the absorption of the iron,†explains the doctor.
