Mexican artist Ricardo RamÃrez Garduño is redefining hyperrealism through his transformative and innovative artwork. His paintings look JUST like photographs, and it's hard to believe they're not.
This is Ricardo Garduño. The 27-year-old has been pegged as "the best young hyperrealist painter" in all of Mexico, and has received tons of recognition for his portraits of local celebrities.
The "hypperrealism" movement began in the late 1960s, its goal to reproduce reality as accurately as a photograph.
Ricardo mixes watercolor with pastels to portray the level of realism in his art.
"To look is very important because it communicates different emotions and feelings," the artist says. "Besides, life is lived better in black and white, because that way, emerges melancholy we all have inside."
The realism he captures is astounding...
Incredible, even.
If only this were real life though...
All pastel and watercolor.
Some of Ricardo's work can be seen at GB Gallery in Mexico.
Check it out here.
It's something you won't want to miss, as every image he creates is unique, expressive and tells its own story.
