This Artist Perfectly Captures Your Childhood As A 'Star Wars' Fan
Captured the Star Wars nostalgia, he has.
Many years ago, in a backyard far, far away, children everywhere reenacted their favorite Star Wars scenes.
Artist Craig Davison masterfully captures this childhood play with "shadow" paintings.
He describes the series as "children lost in their imaginations."
Perfect, right?
Although Craig saw the first Star Wars movie when he was 11, he didn't fully realize his love for the characters until he started painting as an adult.
And while he does draw on his own childhood memories, Craig also credits American illustrator N.C. Wyeth as a major inspiration.
But no matter where it comes from, Craig taps deep into our collective nostalgia to bring these children to life.
"I decided to use ideas based on Star Wars as it was rich with characters that people could relate to," Craig told Dose.
One of the most striking aspects of the series is Craig's creatively accurate use of everyday objects that he incorporates into every costume.
"I enjoy the challenge of figuring out how a kid would become Boba Fett with found objects and a little creativity," Craig explained.
Though he's never had any formal training, he worked as a cartoonist, computer game animator and sculptor before he settled on painting eight years ago.
